Apparently selling Volkswagen’s in Salem, New Jersey has gotten so bad that they would rather put used trucks in their front yard than their new Volkswagen lineup!
I snapped this picture while driving thru rt 40 in NJ.

According to their website, out of 80 used vehicles in stock, 13 of them are pickup trucks.
Also, they want $10,925 for that red Colorado, which is a 2006 with 108,750 miles on it.
On a related note, did you happen to catch a glimpse of the 2003 Eurovan they have in stock?

I've seen this happening a lot with every brand. I don't understand why they are doing it, does it have to do with taxes?

to be honest, i couldnt see many vw’s while I was driving, odd they put all the trucks in the front.
And pickup trucks are way overpriced in NJ.

I had no idea that Volkswagen made pickup trucks. They look pretty good!

Fun fact: those trucks actually produce the lowest emissions out of all of the vehicles at the dealer.
I am now officially That Guy.

If a dealership sells used vehicles, then it’s likely to pursue ones that it can flip for decent cash; I’m assuming that’s the case here.

I driven by that dealer many times. Never understood why VW considered that an open point. But it seems to be mostly a used car dealer from what I've observed.

That's what I figured. They are normally nicer newer trucks.

Most dealers make more from selling used cars than new cars. Everyone pretty much sells new cars around invoice prices so the dealer only makes a few bucks each sale. Used cars and trucks often have a good mark-up over the dealer cost.

True but it looks bad that they wouldn't have their new Volkswagen car on the front lot. You ever go to a toyota dealer you usually see their new cars featured on the front.

I made a very cliche VW emissions joke.

A VW dealer close to me doesn’t have any Volkswagens on the front line anymore; not even used ones. It used to, though, before the diesel thing. What’s worse is that the dealer is a part of a giant metro Atlanta dealer chain, not just a single, family-owned dealership.
